Mindfulness focuses on improving one’s ability to accept and be present in the moment. When you’re mindful, you carefully observe your thoughts and feelings without judging them good or bad. Mindfulness helps you awaken to your current experience, rather than dwelling on the past or anticipating the future.

Distress Tolerance

Substance abuse disorders often stem from an inability to navigate overwhelming emotional experiences. DBT helps our clients build increasing emotional tolerance and provides the skills necessary to navigate circumstances that once seemed all too easy to escape.

Emotion Regulation
