Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) uses a combination of FDA-approved medication and clinically informed therapy to provide comprehensive treatment for substance use disorders.
Goals of the MAT program include:
- Improving client survival rates
- Keeping clients in treatment
- Decreasing drug use and other criminal activity among people with substance use disorders
- Increasing clients’ ability to gain and maintain employment
- Improving birth outcomes among pregnant women with substance use disorders
