PATH to Help Law Enforcement in All Homelessness Calls

The West Lafayette Police Department has shifted its policy for calls involving people experiencing homelessness to include Valley Oaks Health’s PATH program staff.

This change is welcomed by our organization as it allows those experiencing homelessness to receive the mental health care they may need while finding housing and a path forward.

Program director, Randi Slavens, says, “Our team is very excited to continue working with WLPD. This partnership has helped numerous people through outreach and access to services.  We can’t wait to see how the new policy continues to enhance our effectiveness in working with this population.”
