The Indiana Department of Education recently awarded community organizations and schools across the state with more than $120 million in funding to help recover from an unprecedented school year.
In partnership with Boswell Elementary School, Otterbein Elementary School, and BloomBoard Inc., Valley Oaks Health received a $166,000 grant which will be utilized to address existing racial, economic, and other disparities in education exacerbated by COVID-19.
We will be offering micro-credentialing to educators in our community that specifically addresses issues of equity and learning loss. We will also hire a Student Services Coordinator who supports the academic, mental, social, and emotional needs of ALL students, especially those who are currently at-risk or have experienced greater levels of learning loss and trauma as a result of the pandemic.
