Bridges to Community Living

The Bridges to Community Living program consists of the Hybrid Program, Cluster Program, and Clubhouse and is available in Tippecanoe County.

Hybrid Program

The Hybrid Program admits individuals being discharged from state hospitals or those with a high incidence of recidivism, individuals who are at risk of being homeless because of their inability to meet the expectations of their housing lease, and those who have frequent legal contacts with law enforcement. Individuals admitted to the program typically have a diagnosis of Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, or other psychotic disorder. The goal of this program is to teach skills necessary for independent living to individuals who require intensive coaching to successfully function within the community. Individuals share a four bedroom home with three other individuals. Staff coverage is provided from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Cluster Program

The Cluster Program is similar to the Hybrid Program with the primary difference being residents of the cluster program reside in their own apartment and can receive daily contact from service providers.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse offers a fun, comfortable, warm atmosphere where individuals with mental illness can join others in building relationships. There are resources available for individuals to be able to access the internet and e-mail (Clerical Unit), learn how to budget, prepare and serve meals (Kitchen Unit), and learn healthy eating habits along with light exercise (Healthy Living). There are also additional activities planned for participants throughout the year, such as an annual yard sale.
