Tom Gilliom

Chief Executive Officer

Working in community mental health is a passion for Tom which is shown in his almost 41 years of working in the field of mental health.  Tom graduated with his MSW in June 1978 and started working at a small office of a community mental health center in July 1978.

He worked at that mental health center until June 2008 – in many different positions with many different responsibilities.  Later that month he began working at Wabash Valley Hospital (now Valley Oaks Health) as the Clinical Services Director.  He then transitioned into the role of Chief Operating Officer and became the interim CEO as of August 2017.  After 6 months the Board hired him as Valley Oaks Chief Executive Officer.

The reason Valley Oaks Health is here is to provide quality mental health and addictions services to the clients and communities that we serve.

Tom is proud to work with the staff of Valley Oaks to provide these services.   Valley Oak’s focus is to address stigma, improve access, encourage people of our communities to obtain the mental health and/or addictions services they need, and provide the services that the communities need.

Every client is important, and every staff member is important.  We do this together one client at a time and one service at a time.
